Buick Introduces Chinese Made Hybrid Car

Aha! See. The trend is starting. Today Buick introduced its first made in China hybrid car. This one's aimed at the Chinese market. However, I'm going to take a wild guess to assume that in a few years they'll probably be importing it or at least parts of it manufactured through it's GM and SAIC joint venture in China into the U.S.

Either way, it's good for China's emerging green sector. Even if the car is priced close to the almost $40,000 USD price tag the Toyota Prius is going for, at least the introduction of another hybrid car will get people thinking more about going the green direction in China.

Hey, just learned that Richard Branson is setting up a clean energy company in China. Very encouraging news to add to the already growing trend I'm seeing of companies investing in clean tech and sustainable development in China. What starts as a trend will hopefully become the standard when it comes to this sector...
