I feel like talking about people this weekend. I'm going to start with this guy.
Elliott Ng (read his bio, very honored to know someone with so many great accomplishments in his sector.) and I had first met via -- what else -- Twitter a few months ago. I had a coffee with him the last time I was in SF before this trip where it became very obvious that we were both on the same page in our genuine interests in building a bridge of greater understanding and awareness between China and the U.S.
It was great seeing him at our Stinking Rose Tweetup this time around. We definitely owe him and his camera big time for taking pictures otherwise how would we prove that we had any fun? ha.
The following day, I met up with him at Uptake HQ (formerly known as Kango.com) office in Palo Alto. From what I hear, Elliott loved the company's biz model so much, he not only invested in the company -- he now serves as their VP of Marketing. :D Anyways, we had a great coffee talk (technically it was frozen yogurt) about ways to cooperate in establishing the San Francisco chapter of The China Business Network as the company moves forward to the next level of initiatives.
As if that's not enough, if you've come across CNReviews.com on china.alltop.com recently -- that's Elliott too! Definitely a worthy China blog to follow.
Speaking of following. Did I mention I met Elliott on Twitter? What are you waiting for? Follow the guy. He's smart. He went to Harvard twice so keep an eye on Elliott and like me, you'll feel a lot smarter by association for doing it. :D
Stay tuned in the coming months as I think I just found a partner in crime for bridge building in San Francisco in regards to a lot of initiatives The China Business Network is planning to do there this year.

A big THANK YOU to Elliott Ng who's China blog CNReviews.com is making it possible for me to vlog during tech week in Beijing from May 21-24 and Shanghai again until May 30th!
CNReviews.com will also be co-hosting a cocktail with The China Business Network on May 22nd following the first day of the CHINICT 08 Conference.
Elliott has been a great supporter of The China Business Network's efforts at continuing to build a bridge between China and the international community. During this month's trip to China, we'll be meeting with prominent bloggers and friends in China's tech community in Beijing and Shanghai to outline plans for our inaugural international tour of China's 2.0 sector in November.
In addition to The Great Wall, Forbidden City, tour of Olympic architecture and a planned party in Shanghai, the tour will be a first of its kind inviting international bloggers to join us for 2 days in Beijing, 2 days in Shanghai and ending with a VIP afterparty following this year's CNBloggercon in Guangzhou. It will include tours of Chinese startups such as Tudou.com and meetups with key members of China's blogger and tech community.
And in case you are wondering. Your official guide for this tour will be yours truly. Sponsorship packages will be available for company's who want to get involved and we will even feature your corporate logo on the official tour hats and flags that I'll be embarrassing all of you around town with. (heh. come on, you don't want to get lost do you?) Stay tuned and block out the first few weeks in November while we get back to you with more details.

If the gap in business culture and landscape between China and the West were a physical bridge, it might be immeasurably long, spanning two vast and vastly different terrains. It takes more than any one person to bridge the gap, or act as a guide on both shores. It takes a Network. Learn more.
