Thanks to Rick Martin of CNET's Little Red Blog for sharing pointing to this YouTube video. I've been looking for more visuals of the Beijing Olympic architecture. I have to admit, early pictures of the Bird's Nest under construction didn't really impress but looking at it now, I can't wait to check it out in person!

Caught this tweet from @fuzheado just now on Twitter...

of course, it got me curious. I'm really looking forward to a trip out to Beijing hopefully next month so I can see all the crazy cool architecture first hand...
...in the meantime, does this look like a pair of pants or underpants to you? Are we talking the granny variety?

Update: there's nothing like getting first person perspective of what everyone's talking about in reference to "pants" so here are a few shots. This one's from @fuzheado that was taken a few months ago:

This one's from @guerel taken last week:

yea...i guess they do bear a resemblance to pants...not underpants (unless i've been missing out on some *really* retro fashion trend?) but they definitely look like a pair of pants when taken from the viewpoint of someone standing under the building. Interesting.

I spent a good part of an hour today just taking a sneak peak at all the insane architecture for the Beijing Olympics. Those of you on the ground in Beijing have literally seen the city change in front of your eyes over the past several years and I only got tiny glimpses of it during the few days I spent there some months back for a conference.
Here's one I'd like to share with you because if it looks anything like the way it's been conceptualized, THAT is totally on my list of must-see places either before or after the madness of the games.

For more information on the WaterCube, check out this article. And you can also find out more about the Australian company behind its design here.
